Default Nice upscale-ish place to take wife for 4th anniversary

I am taking my wife out either Friday or Saturday and would like somewhere nice to take her. Preferably somewhere in the city in a nice neighborhood, good view would be nice but as long as the place is really nice I can overlook that. I am looking in the $50 range. She likes steak, I can make do with just about anything. Any ideas?

Vin De Set is awesome, call for reservations and try to get a table on the rooftop, you have a great view of downtown: Welcome to Vin de Set

My other favorites are Niche (Benton Park), Eleven Eleven Mississippi (Lafayette Square) and Mosiac (Downtown)-You should probably make reservations ahead of time at all of these places.

A perfect place for an after dinner drink is the patio at the Lodge of Four Seasons in the Lumiere Place Casino downtown. It has a great view and can be romantic.

A favorite place for me to take my fiance is Bailey's Chocolate Bar in Lafeyette Square (Voted No. 1 in st.louis for a first date)

Also, any of The Hill restaurants are lovely, but may slide above your price range. (Try Zia's, Giovanni's on the Hill, or Charlie Gitto's on the Hill)

Thank you both! Vin de Set has came up so many times that I finally just made the reservation. I hope my wife likes it, it's going to be a surprise. She thinks we're just going somewhere that we always go.

You will love Vin de Set, make sure you have a rooftop table for your reservation. After dinner I would go around the corner to Baileys Chocolate Bar for an after dinner drink/desert.

I ended up at Vin De Set and sat on the balcony - excellent.

What's odd is, I grew up 100 miles away, and our waitress was a girl I knew from my home town. We both did double takes, and she treated us very well with complimentary dessert =)

Not sure yet why someone would pay $100 to eat at Ruth's Chris when a place like Vin De Set is around where you can get an appetizer, 2 entrees, and desset for $60.

Thanks everybody!
