Default Farm Aid & the Metro

Hi All

Will be in STL for 4 days for the Farm Aid event on Oct 4th...Hubby & I are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in St Charles...am wondering about the possibility of driving to the metro station at the North Hanley stop & then riding to the Cardinals game..visiting the Zoo or the Arch..the concert is on Sunday & we will arrive on Thursday...I thought taking the metro would be much easier than driving & finding a parking spot..Any suggestions are most welcome...Thanks,Vickidr

You can also hop on the metro at the airport. I've done this before, and used the cheap parking lots (about $5 a day for the "Super Park" lot I believe, although its been awhile since I've flown from STL). Metro tickets will be $4.50 for each of you for a round trip. I'd certainly recommend it for the Cards game, but it may actually be easier to drive to the zoo if you go on a weekday. I only take it downtown for large events (like a Cards game), when parking is very tight and expensive.

Good call on the metro route!! We do that all of the time. For a visit to the Arch, Stadium, Union station and other central downtown goodies... awesome. For the Zoo and Farm Aid, not quite as direct unfortunately.

PS- per the rec of a friend... last week we went to go eat dinner at Llewellyn’s Pub in Soulard before the game: http://www.llywelynspub.com/ . Great food, even the kiddies loved it. Regardless, they along with a bulk of the rest of eateries in Soulard, have free shuttles to the stadium on game day. They drop you off right by the entrance up to an hour before the game, and start to shuttle back at the bottom of the 7th. Awesome alternative to ridiculous $20.00 parking or crowded Metro.
