Don't like the Rams. Don't like Rush. But he has every right to buy the team if he wants. He seems to know the game and knows marketing. He may just be a good owner. Ironic that the team will be playing in a stadium built on public bonds (how's that for Socialism?)
In the meantime, a development group is very near to getting the approvals and variances to build a new stadium in The Los Angeles Area.

Just curious, DP - is that the one on that site in Carson, CA that I heard about a while back? Thanks!

not for it. Don't like Limbaugh and don't want him owning the Rams. My support is fully behind the founder of WorldWideTechnology( based in St. Louis), Dave Stewart and his partner Donald Watkins.
Limbaugh is an afterthought -- he's not getting the team.

It is a new site in the City of Industry (essentially a city zoned for business with less than 100 residents) The developers would be Phil Anschutz and Ed Roski. Very centrally located to LA and Orange County.
The Carson site was a landfill on the 405 freeway (there were at least 4 other proposals, including a new stadium in Anaheim, and a group wanting to build a stadium at the old El Toro Marine Corp Air Station

Interesting, thanks.
And a general question to all - who is the true racist of the two below?

I think you will find that among major cities, St. Louis has one of the highest percentages of citizens that are fans of out-of-town teams. This goes back to the disillusion of the mismanaged football Cardinals.
Having said that, I personally don't see the problem with Rush Limbaugh owning anything. He's a Missouri native and a self-made man, and this wouldn't be an issue if the short-sighted libs weren't so spiteful towards anyone reaping the benefits of a capitalist society and not subscribing to a socialist agenda. Rush is not a racist. Liberals make more issues with exploiting race issues than anyone. Funny how no one made a stink when Jay-Z, whose rap lyrics say some horrible things about blacks, purchased a share of the New Jersey Nets.

You have a consistent habit of posting things saying they are fact even though they aren't. At least you are consistent.
The Rams have sold out every game this season and most games since their relocation to St.Louis in 1995. Their local, regional, and National following is just fine. Just because you are a fan of another team and the Rams are not performing well doesn't mean you can make up things and pass them off as facts.

I realize the media is making a bigger issue of this than it needs to be. Rush would only be a part owner much like the Williams sisters are part owners of the Dolphins. This translates to Rush having essentially little power and would not function like Jerry Jones.
Still I was curious, how do the residents of St. Louis view this?

Rush Limbaugh doesn't even believe many of the things Rush Limbaugh says. He has taken advantage of a certain impressionable element of society to make hundreds of millions of dollars.
As far as being an owner, the process counts. The Rams would benefit from improved marketing and public relations, something Checketts can do. But it would take very little for Limbaugh to stir up controversy. It's unnecessary. There is other interest from other groups.

I don't think either one is a racist, but both make a lot of money by scaring the hell out of the undereducated elements of their own race.

St. Louis is a very interesting city. It is the crossroads between both North and South, and East and West. The general consensus though is that Missouri doesnt get really "southern" until a couple of hours south of St. Louis, in the Cape Girardeau-Sikeston area.
