It is disappointing to see MORE parking spaces, though. We already have too many.

I don't mind the parking spaces in buildings, just when it is on flat surface. This looks promising, with actual businesses as tenants! Hopefully they can take down that skywalk!

Total waste of money. What a crime-infested dump City Centre was. Hard to have a shopping center when no one has any money in that area.

These are the Downtown resident's demographics through Dec 31, 2008

Income:
$25,000 or less, 5.3%; $25,001-$35,000; 5.3%; $35,001-$50,000, 15.5%; $50,001-$75,000; 18.7%; $75,001-$100,000; 18.2%; $100,001-$200,000, 28.7%; $200,000+, 8.5%

Sure, they're all broke.

Sure, some are poor, some are not. 75% of them make more than $50,000 per year. 55% of them make more than $75,000 a year. 37% make more than $100,000 per year.

I would give you a link, but I have the info printed out and I can't find the site. It's from the 2008 Downtown St. Louis Housing Report.

I assume you're talking about St. Louis Centre being a waste of money when it was built in the 1980s. If you're referring to the current redevelopment projects being a waste of money, you couldn't be more wrong.

Nothing says poor like owning a $500,000 condo!

St. Louis Centre was a failure from the start. Indoor shopping malls are suffering. I see this project as no different no matter what income people in the area have.

It's not about how much you make, it's about how much you keep. How much do they have left to spend after paying the mortgage?

Well judging from my own situation residing downtown. I have quite a bit to spend at downtown businesses. I also know plenty others down here that are well off.
