I'm looking for a gym that is affordable but also offers good classes. Someone suggested Lifetime Fitness to me before and as I recall it's located in West County. I live in West County now but will be moving soon. Lifetime Fitness looked perfect but it will just be too far of a drive. The gym I go to now is affordable but the classes suck. Not enough variety to get a real good workout.

I am a member at Club Fitness. I used to go to the South county one, then after I moved, I go switched to the one in O'Fallon, IL. There have serveral locations on both sides of the river. Check their website Club Fitness The classes vary by location. The best part, only 20 bucks a month.

Where will you be living? There are a lot of gyms all over the place.

Club Fitness is the best value. It's a gym and it's cheap, but nothing terribly special about it.

The gf and I are strongly considering joining the YMCA. It's pricey but they have great classes, pools, a location right by us (Sublette) and a brand new one in Carondelet. It's quite tempting...

Kinda hard to recommend a gym when we don't know where you'll be moving.

Club Fitness is of very poor quality. The reason it is so cheap is that the equipment is substandard and is frequently broken (we did a year and visited Creve Coeur/Ballwin/Webster Groves facilities). A good rule of thumb for life - especially in St. Louis - is "you get what you pay for." You are better off with Bally's or Gold's Gym - a little more for the dues, but you get access to state-of-the-art equipment, no waiting periods, and more knowledgeable fitness professionals.

Thanks. Club Fitness is the gym I'm a member of now. I don't like it.

May be a bit pricey, give them a call, but I've played racquetball there and it's a VERY nice overall facility. Great indoor running track.

If you are downtown I would check out Fitness Factory, I have three friends that belong there and really like it.

There is also a YMCA
