depends stop light to stop light yeah you guys hook up better cause you can launch at 5000 rpm but in the quarter you lose stock wrx to stock Camaro SS cause the camaro will pull harder at the top after it hooks up.
are running 100% stock or do you have bolt-ons or have you up screwed with your boost?
you are running 305HP and 290Ft-lbs stock and a 05 GTO stock runs 400HP and 400ft-lbs but is 400lbs heavier
heres a test from edmonds both car are pretty even in the quarter from a stand still http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZliO4rUPvg
slp does make some nice upgrades for the 6.0 GTO's though just like with you wrx a GTO, Camaro or a mustang are very easy to get big numbers with a few bolt-on mods

The WRX also has a substantially higher final drive ratio for better down-low grunt. Once you approach 100MPH or so an LS-powered car will start walking away.
Does not compute. The 2009 WRX is runs just over 13psi stock. No stock U.S.-market WRX has ever run 17psi of boost; the highest boost level they've run is about 14.5psi for the STi and the original 2.0L WRX.

I have run the 2009 and 2008 STI and 2009 WRX on track at speed, stock and they run out of puff at 115-120 mph. It feels like you are driving through molasses to get it to go any faster.

I have a boost gauge, Mine definitely hits 17 PSI. If you look on nasioc.com its not uncommon due to the tune/altitude.
