100 per cent vitamin D knowledgable. I have to take calcium supplements I won' t take any med or supplement into my body without doing a research on it..I knew that I would have to take calcium with Vitamin D(the sunshine vitamin) in order to absorb the calcium. Good piece of informatiom to pass on, 6foot..
I DONT THINK YOU CAN GET TOO MUCH OF ANY VITAMIN,your body will just pee it out (what it doesnt need) Like with Vitamin C,you cannot overdose on Vit-C!

Be careful! This only applies to water soluble vitamins (like vitamin C). Fat soluble vitamins like vitamin D will be stored in fat cells when there are excess amounts present within your body. It's definitely important to understand the difference between the 2 types.

Just from my own personal experience as i've taken high amounts of vit - C for years and now reciently i had to drop the amount as it really made me have bad insomnia whenever i go above 500 mgs as i would be wired like on speed (lol). Why? i'm not sure although i know that it's supposedly good for the adrenals and so maybe it had me cranking out too much adrenaline?

You can get too much of a vitamin, even water-soluble Vitamin C. Side effects include diarrhea and canker sores.

Here's a little bit of info re "other" uses for Vit D.
Many, many years ago, my wife & I got into raising Registered Black Labs. Our 2nd litter produced 7 beautiful pips.............6 were all about the same size and one was about 20 to 25% smaller than the others.
Our vet was an old timer and recomended giving the dog a "Dibasic Calicum Tablet along with a Vit "D" tablet every day with his evening meal.. We started doing this when the "runt" was about 10 weeks old and continued until he was a year old. He went from being the "runt" to weighing 104 pounds at 14 months; had the biggest paws; and was about 1 1/2 inches taller than the others. I kept him and one of the females and sold the others to some of my hunting friends. At 20 months the male (former runt)got hit by a school bus and got caught up in the rear dual tires and wedged up into the upper portion of the wheel well. Got him to our vet within 15 minutes.......his R/R leg was amputated at the Hip Joint and had multiple other lesser injuries that took about 2 months to heal......the amputation took about 6 months to get him back to about 90% of his old self. I slowly re-introduced him to water fowl hunting and Pheasant hunting......AND was able to "Hunt-Him" through his 13th year....at that point he just couldn't do it any more.....................A remarkable dog!!!
