this might sound strange but i am not kidding. I enjoy dreaming, especially those that seem real. i dont care if they are nightmares or not. I have taken different supplements but nothing seems to help. at the moment i am taking some type of herbal drops.
the only thing that has really worked were nicotine patches, but i dont smoke and they are pricey. They work good for dreams. anyone ever take anything, legal, that has caused good intense dreams?

I have noticed that as I've gotten older, I don't dream as much or as vividly. I have no idea if this is a function of age or if it's b/c I sleep fewer hours each night than I used to (I've noticed that I dream more on weekends when I'm getting more sleep.) One thing that has really brought on the dreams is a legal supplement that I take to help with symptoms of ADD and it's piracetam. You can get it from amazon but not a health food store--I have no idea why. I take them at night and sleep very well and have had some rather disquieting dreams--one night I dreamed I was having skanky sex with both of my new bosses and even in the dream it wasn't fun. After that it was fine and I settled into some good dreams.

If you take piracetam, make sure you take choline b/c piracetam can use it up and you need choline for brain function. Also I read somewhere that the neurotransmitter acetylcholine is responsible for vivid dreams, and incidentally, it's also the one that is depleted when you get alzheimers. Interestingly, several of the cognitive enhancers that I've read about to help with symptoms of alzheimers are also ones that make you dream more vividly so you might want to do a google search on the terms nootropics, cognitive enhancers, and dreams. Oh yeah, and look up galantamine and huperzine too. I haven't tried them but they are supposed to be good.

Bingo, it's the choline. But bananas have about 13 mg per and potatoes have twice as much and eggs have 125 mg per. I had 3 eggs for dinner last night and dreamt like a champ.
