This is another example of people getting way too caught up in health trends and fads without proper vetting and scientific backing. I wonder how many individuals with cancer have listened to the "alternative health gurus" and have wasted hundreds of dollars on mega dose "antioxidant" supplements thinking that they were helping to cure themselves, when in fact they were exacerbating their condition and making things worse.
Remember: eggs used to be horrible for you and skyrocket your cholesterol. Instead reality demonstrated that they weren't and didn't for the vast majority of people who consume them.
I really feel badly for cancer sufferers who were (or are) chortling down fistfuls of antioxidant supplements only to at best be wasting precious resources and at worst be making a serious health condition worse.
Health trends and fads should come with big red flashing lights and "danger...danger!!" alerts with them.
I talk about grape seed extract and pycnogenol and we in the U.S. have been privliged to have it here about 25 yrs or less, in Europe (France) about 60 yrs or so...depends who and what you read and who you want to believe. Many with their own special interests don't want us to prevent too much disease and health conditions. Wonder why. I'm still banking on it for added prevention hopefully.
Just remember too, all sites have their special interests backers offering their info. Depends who you want to go with and believe.

Morrison said that further study needs to be done to confirm the findings and that cancer patients should still consume antioxidants as part of a healthy diet.
But, he added, "personally, from the results we've seen, I would avoid supplementing my diet with large amounts of antioxidants if I had cancer."
This is the MAIN reason I started on Pycnogenol and then a year later went to Grape Seed Extract and that was in 1995 as we were told MAY prevent cancers.
I continue with these OPC's, class of these antioxidants, 22 yrs later.
