As i have kidney failure my body is having trouble absorbing iron so my nephrologist has me getting iron supplement intravenously. if you ever need it done prepare yourself for a long 3 hour ordeal whereby you sit in a chair at the hospital and wait for this stuff to slowly drip into your system. definitely panders to your boredom factor. they got me down for 3 doses over the course of 3 weeks,2 down one more to go

If this IV is beneficial, then the downtime is well worth it as I see it.

My wife had an iron infusion this past week and I was with her. The entire process took about 20-30 minutes. She will be having them once a week for the next six weeks. She received 200 mL over 15 minutes.

According to this link, https://www.healthline.com/health/iron-infusion, it says the procedure can take 3-4 hours. There are obviously different procedures, conditions, and type of iron used in IV iron therapy.

Do you have a kindle or ebook reader?

I have the opposite problem, my body cannot process iron, so it will store it, so I have to have therapeutic phlebotomies to take the blood out, & make new blood using up the iron stores. I had it done last week, it took about an hour, but I had my e reader with me, so that helped pass the time, I have to go back this week & do it all over again. Bringing something to do or read can help pass the time.
