3/4 c whole grain total cereal gives you 100% (1000 mgs)/(100cals)
Soy milk is about 300-500 more mgs if you only use one cup.
Thats above your bare minimum on a very tiny bowl of cereal.
Not really...when your dr. tells you to take 1200-1500 mg calcium per day. I do use soy milk most mornings and vary my cereals, but it's simply not enough for most women.

Post-menopausal women should take 1500-1800 a day. So the bowl of cereal isn't going to be enough for many women.
Our doctors mean for us to take the supplement in addition to our dietary intake. I already have osteoporosis in my hip so not only am I taking calcium with vit. D, I'm taking Fosomax. Maybe a total of 1200 or so is ok for young women, but I wish I'd started taking supplements a lot earlier. Maybe some of this stuff could have been prevented.
