Some locals in my rural area are feeding flax seed to their free range chickens and the eggs end up loaded with DHA/EPA. The chicks are a lot healthier too.

The Biblical term for flax is "pulse".

Alexander the Great saw to it that his entire army ate flax to kick enemy butt.

Yup!

I wish my mommie had had high omega three intake during pregnancy and suckle-fun.

Why?

Because some people do not have the enzyme to convert omega three to EPA - but the lab test to find out, cost a fortune, so I do both.
From my understanding it's usually trans fats that down regulate the Delta-6 Desaturase that elongates the 18 carbon chain to 20 and 22 or EPA/DHA so yeah i agree with not just eating Flax unless someone is already in really good health from my readings over the years about it.

Well not all Omega-3 fatty acids have DHA/EPA which are the real healing properties of these fatty acids.

Some foods with the Omega-3's like Flax, Walnuts and Soy are only 18 carbon chain long and dont have the EPA/DHA. So the body has an enzyme called the ''delta-6 desaturase'' that adds more carbons (elongates) to the fat to make EPA/DHA. But for some people that enzyme doesn't work properly i.e. old age, high trans fats in diet and some diseases like cancer. So the why not forget about this alltogether if your not young and healthy and just consume either Salmon, Mackerel or Sardines which already have EPA/DHA and also so do Fish Oils sold as supplements.
