What are you talking about? I actually listen to everything and offer information, like I just did. No need to get salty, because you just run on emotion. It's not that serious, really. If anything, showing positive aspects of Syracuse is giving balance, if you think about it.
Ithaca has a very low unemployment rate, but you will hear or find out that many people are underemployed in terms of what type of work they do versus the education they have. So, Missoula might be experiencing the same thing. That happens with college towns to some degree and especially if they fit a certain niche(i.e.-artsy, "liberal", etc.).

Vehicle taxes...yup...just forked over nearly $500 for our RI vehicle taxes. And RI does still have property taxes, sales tax, etc.
Will be glad to not have those extra expenses here in NY next year.

Getting away from NY and its damm fees is A1 on my list of reasons for leaving.
Just income tax, property tax and sales tax eat over 25% of my gross income. Ad in Fed and SS and all the goodness and I'm living on half what I earn.
Then god help you in NY if you want to leave the house. Gas taxes to make your head explode. Gas is 3.59$ here.
Sportsmans licence is a 100.
Permit to purchase a pistol is 150(in Madison County, more elsewehere.).
200 for my truck.
25 dollars a night to camp in a state park(its 6 here).
And on and on. If I added it all up NY prolly takes pretty close to, well, ALL my money.

Jesus did you guys see the video of the gang beating in Sylvan Beach?? The guy that shot it is a FB friend of mine.
From the look some black kid tried to enter the World of the inbred redneck scum. I can't see where he said a word and was in fact leaving when like 10 rednecks jumped him. The video end when the cops and EMT's arrive.
You stay classy NY!!!!

Nope, wrong on both accounts. There were Black folks at Sylvan Beach when I went a couple of weekends and White folks in Hawley-Green, as well as the rest of the city. It helps to know what you are talking about. Here's info. on NY Campsites: New York State Parks

Just got off the phone with a wonderful gentleman from Keuka State Park. He spent a good twenty minutes on the phone discussing the various parks and amenities within a half hour of our hopefully soon to be new home.
Goodness I love it here. :-)

Useing your links I see 21 dollars a night for NY and 7 dollars for Montana. Pretty close for memory.
I think you spend too much time on the innerweb and not enough actually going places. Out here are also about a million National Forest site that are FREE.
The innerweb is about useless in NY like when I got my EDL a couple weeks ago and the innerweb stated 30 bucks. I get to Wampsville and its 42$ She started with some BS story about the innerweb not being up to date. I just said whatever and paid like a good NYer but inside its just another nail in that scumhole state.
