Default Syracuse Area - Town of Van Buren Photos

The Town of Van Buren is located northwest of Syracuse. Van Buren shares Baldwinsville with Lysander. Half of B'ville is in Lysander....the southern half is located in Van Buren. Here are some facts about the Town of Van Buren:

-The boundary of the town in the north and west is the Seneca River
-Two interstates highways run through the town....I-90 to the south and I-690 to the north
-Only a small strip of the town is developed. The built up area runs along the northern part of town..parallel to the Seneca River.
-Most of the town is rolling farmland...some of which is protected
-The town is slowly decreasing in population from it's 1990 peak population of 13,000
-Only in the last couple years has growth started coming back to the town
-The town is very beautiful outside a few eyesores closer to the highways (typical in the Syracuse area...only the ugly areas are most visible...the beautiful areas are hidden and out of the way)
-The only "dead mall" still left in the Syracuse area is in Van Buren. Good News on that front....the new owners of Tri-County Mall have plans to redevelop the property.
-Most of Van Buren is located in the Baldwinsville School District
- The town has three Golf Courses, a decent amount for a small town
-Village Green, Seneca Knolls, and Warners are all located in Van Buren....though these places aren't as pretty as the rest of the town IMO

Town of Van Buren Population ~ 12,000
Average price of a home ~ $128,000
Ryan Homes in this town start at ~ $160,000

Interesting question! I'd say no. Never hear about Moose in the area. You'd have to travel to the Adirondacks before you'll find a Moose population.

That makes perfect sense. Ryan Homes builds in the Carolinas too.

The Van Buren side of Baldwinsville actually doesn't look that great. Many neighborhoods have homes that need a new coat of paint and new landscaping. A serious lack of curb appeal is a wide spread problem in the Syracuse area. Even in a nice place like B'ville. Many residents just do not keep up the appearance of their home and yard.

This is one reason why I look forward to this area growing. New residents = revitalized neighborhoods = more attractive place to live
