A friend is looking for a place to rent and is having trouble finding a place that will allow him to have his two well behaved pit bulls. He would like a safe area that allows pit bulls. No kids, so schools are not important.

Do you know of anything?

I would say that Craigslist is your best bet, especially for individually-owned apartments. Apt complexes are the ones that tend to have restrictions

I have to say that I think it's going to be tough for your friend to find a place. I have 2 corgis- well trained, etc., and we are having a tough time finding a nice place that accepts pets. Your friend will probably want any potential landlord to be able to meet the dogs in person. Such a shame about Pits- so many very bad people ruined many a sweet dog not to mention the breed's rep. as a whole. I have known some verrrrrry sweet pitbulls who have responsible owners!!!

Pitbulls are the exact opposite of what the are portrayed to be. A pitbull raised by a nice friendly family will be THE friendliest dog when a stranger comes into the house (burglars included). Unlike, say, german sheperds, they have no natural guard dog instinct.

But a pitbull raised by a thug to be thuggish will be the scariest dog you have ever seen. Very sad for these dogs owned by thugs.

I had a lot of trouble finding rentals, at least within the city, that allowed dogs at all. Went through two apartments before just buying a house here. I had reasonable luck with Craigslist and if you can get your hands on a copy of the Scotsman/Pennysaver and call around on those listings, that's how I stumbled into my last apartment.
