My family and I are relocating to the Baldwinsville area this weekend. My new employer is putting us in a furnished apartment in Village Green until we find a house we want to buy.
We are from West Chester PA and we are extremely excited to be moving to the beatiful Syracuse area. Currently we are looking for houses in Baldwinsville Radison, but I am curious about neighboring towns. It seems like in Clay you get more house for your dollar. Regardless where in the area you move it seems very inexpensive compared to where we currently live. Our 1500 sq ft 30year old rinky dink townhouse in PA is selling for 235K! I can't believe what we will be able to buy in CNY for ~150K....it's amazing. Sure the taxes will be higher, but we feel it is definetly worth it.
My wife and I are 30 and are kids are 6 and 3. We are looking for a area with some amount of life to it with good schools. Is Baldwinsville that area?

Also, I can not wait until this winter! We love the snow (skiing / Snowboarding). Does anyone have any good info on places to go? How about some nice mountain bike trails??

Any info is apreciated!

For skiing/snowbording you need only get on Rt81south. Labrador mt and Greek Peek will fill that need. My sons go to both...both are nice. Or you can make the weekend trip up to the Whiteface/Lake Placid/Gore Mt areas in the Adirondacks.

LOL...a "Greek Peek" could most certainly be interpreted as something totally different and might be something a proctologist might do on a regular basis!

If the doctor ever asks for a "greek peek" I will be sure to stay away!

Thanks for the info!

Mtn biking, hiking Highland Forest Park. Skiing: Greek Peak, Song, Lab. Great yet inexpensive club / ski racing programs to keep the kids active and interested in something else other than TV and Nintendo...

Default Baldwinsville vs Cicero/Clay

I have lived in the syracuse area most of my life and I think Baldwinsville is a beautiful area the houses are a bit more but the community is smaller. Cicero / Clay has become such a huge area! The schools are big and in my honest opinion Baldwinsville has a better school district. The Cicero North Syracuse district has a population that is not really the most desireable. I think there is some of that element in Baldwinsville but less of it. I would definately choose Baldwinsville over Cicero.
