I'm not sure and it seems that any revitalization in the Auburn area is focusing on its Downtown and historical sites(Harriet Tubman site and the Seward Home).
I know that there is some shopping across the street from Fingerlakes Mall that seems to be doing better and maybe another reason for the state of the mall.
Yeah, I was wondering if Destiny USA was siphoning off from other malls in the area. I know the Great Northern Mall in Clay was pretty empty last time I saw it. Almost every store here is vacant and I think I was the only person in the mall, which is a strange feeling. There were some other shoppers in Bass Pro.
I read an article yesterday that Colonie Center may close when Sears goes out of business in September. It was on Morningstar's website which I can't post here due to the paywall. Anyway, off to Roc...

Yeah, retail is taking a hit and Gymboree is closing 350 stores as another example.
A lot of retail has moved to plazas, Lifestyle centers, etc. as well. In Auburn, there is also some big box shopping east of the city on Grant Ave.
In Rochester, the Medley Centre in Irondequoit is a recent example there in terms of a mall declining/closing. I'm not sure about any others though.

Just curious, but does anyone know who owns the Lafayette Building in Downtown? I'm curious, because it seems like it would be a building that would have been developed already. This is the building I'm referring to: https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0487...7i13312!8i6656
