It's a huge party to celebrate the end of the school year at SU if I am not mistaken.

Ahh ok, one of my friends is apparently coming out for it. They told me the weekend and I found it was Mayfest but I had no clue what it was. I see a bunch of bands, but other than that the website isn't even up yet.

Yep and I'm not sure where or how the kids are going to party. It has been in the University neighborhood and last year they did it in the Walnut Park area.

I just booked tickets to go see my friend out in Colorado Springs this summer It was way cheaper to fly out of Rochester - tickets from SYR were over $500 and out of Rochester were only $280!

That has been an issue for a while and hopefully, that will be adjusted. When I was in the military, I flew out of or into Albany, Rochester and Buffalo instead of Syracuse.

Yeah I have only ever flown out of Syracuse once. I typically fly out of Albany. If I booked tickets the same days with the same airline, they were $510 out of Syracuse and $280 out of Rochester. It's definitely worth the tank of gas and parking in the economy lot ($40 according to Rochester's website)

I have been holding off buying my plane tickets for a trip I am taking because I heard that around the first week of April, tickets are a little cheaper, but with gas prices going up, I don't see that happening this year.
Parking at ROC is cheaper than in Syracuse too although I am sure that isn't an issue for you at SYR.

Yeah it really is a shame for SYR that it is cheaper to drive hours to another airport and leave your car at that airport. I even looked at taking the train/bus out to Rochester, but it would've been the same amount of money either way, so I'd rather drive. I've never flown out of ROC before, so it'll be an adventure!

Syracuse named one of the 20 best performing U.S. cities | syracuse.com
Here's another list!.. Syacuse named one of the 20 best performing US cities! It tied with Boston for 16th. Buffalo, Rochester and Albany were named No. 3, No. 4 and No. 14 on the list, respectively. Las Vegas, Nevada, topped the list of the 20 worst performing cities in America. The Sin City has an unemployment rate of 12.7 percent and has seen home prices down 64.8 percent from its peak.
I may have to question Buffalo being named no. 3 which had to be taken over by Fiscal Stabilty Authority. The BFSA was created to oversee the financial operations of the City of Buffalo and the covered organizations (Buffalo School District, the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, the Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency, and the Joint Schools Construction Board).
