I just did a day trip yesterday. We went to the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park. That only took a few hours so we went up the Thousand Islands since we were so close and had never been there. We found 3 lighthouses to check out. We stopped at a state park for a little while. I have an Empire Passport so I get into most of the state parks for free.

We spent more on gas and food than everything else combined. I did all that in 13 hours which included coming and going from Geneva. We stopped for lunch and dinner at sit down restaurants. No fast food for us! It was a nice way to spend a day. And Mondays tend to be far less crowded at many locations.

It is now, but when I posted 3 years ago it was still there. I didn't know it was gone until I drove by this past week and was surprised that there's only a chimney left. Too bad it will be a hotel and the view will be blocked.
