Interesting about Tim Horton's. At least they are making an effort to open businesses in Syracuse, even if it's from Canada.

They are all over here in my town as well. Mostly hidden by trees; still very visible nonetheless due to height.

Highlights of the above home include:
- 3,500 sq ft
- 4 bedrooms 2.5 baths
- 3 car garage
- 2 staircases
-Home theatre
-Billiards room
-in ground pool
-brick patio
-landscaping is already done, picture was taken before landscaping was complete
I used to think that only the top three school districts in the region like Baldwinsville, DeWitt and Fayetteville/Manlius were the only towns where very expensive homes would be built around Syracuse, but today almost all the major local suburban school districts have new high end subdivisions.

I'm from NYC and I'm thinking about moving to Syracuse. I prefer quiet clean places where there are jobs. I don't care about tall buildings because I had enough of it in NYC. I want to move somewhere where there is a cute downtown area and a lof of rolling hills and green grass with lots of rivers and lakes.

You'd only find one of those things (green grass) in Cicero.
The topography in Central New York becomes hilly a bit farther south; Syracuse and its southern suburbs have nice drumlins and higher hills.
The jobs thing might be a sticking point, depending on the field you're in. It is a gorgeous region, though, and one doesn't need a high-paying job to live very well.

Cicero I think would meet your demands, well except for the rolling hills. ITs really quiet and safe which is a plus if you have kids. Close to all amenities, including Walmart, Target, and Wegmans (grocery). The only thing that Cicero does not have an abundance of is restaurants but there are many within 10-15 minutes drive time. Another plus is that a nice lake is located in Cicero and has nice, clean public beaches. Also, compared to NYC you can buy a lot of house for very little money, my example is the house we bought, 2100 sqft, 4 beds, 2.5 bath, 1/2 acre yard built in 97 in a nice quiet division (which has 4 police living in--added plus) cost us 163k, in Las Vegas were we lived previous this house would have cost 450k+. Plus living expenses here are cheaper as well.
The only thing that would not make me recommend Cicero to you is if you are a Yankees fan, we have plenty of those already and dont need more--lol

These photos do not make me want to live in Cicero. It looks like Anywhere, USA.
