I grew up in Manlius in the early 1960;s, I remember the Sno Top stand, cant belive its still there. If I remember correctly the Old MaNLIUS Elementary school was behind it and Temple Dairy store was across the street from it. Thanks for the pics...........

You are correct, except Manlius Elementary is now the police station, village library, and village rec center. Temple's has since closed as well.
Your pictures are great. Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to travel across New York and see every corner of our state. I never heard of Manlius before this thread.... so thanks for giving me a head start

Manlius officials turned down a developer who sought to build a grocery store and commercial complex and wanted to toss in a youth ball field and club house as part of the package.
I know Manlius residents will hate to hear this, but this exactly why Onondaga County is one of the highest taxed counties in the State. Hope Manlius homeowners like paying all those property taxes. It will only get worse once the depression starts.

Like some of the comments on there stated, that project would be great for one of the towns south of Syracuse like Tully or Lafayette.

Good luck with that!
There's not enough of a population base down in the rural south towns to warrant the construction of a full sized grocery store IMO.
