My own wedding this Fall is at Rusty Rail between Canastota and Chittenango on Rt 5. Price is pretty good. Greystone Castle is a storybook place if they fall into a massive pile of cask.
RR is a nice place. We checked it all out and for the money its the best in the area.

I'm going to quadruple vote for Camp Brockway. It's easy to make it STUNNING...
Also- Highland Forest (Skyline Lodge)

Second this one. Friends were married there - they loved it. It does limit size (it's not a huge venue!) - but being a county facility, I imagine it's not terribly expensive.
My own wedding reception was in a beautiful venue - one of the last receptions held in the Hotel Syracuse's grand ballroom before Pascale's lost the contract to use the venue in late 2010. But that one... did *not* come cheap anyways.
What size venue are they looking for? Have some places from our search that I could suggest but they're all more or less tuned to the 175 person wedding reception I had...

I have seen quite a few people getting married in the gazebo on Skaneateles Lake. It is possibly even free.

Thanks everyone! I will pass on your votes to them They are looking at keeping it relatively small to save money... I would say probably max 75 people

I've seen several weddings in Skaneateles on the lake. There's a gazebo that many couples get married in. They end up with beautiful photos! The high school graduates there as well. There's seating for the parents so they should be able to hold 75 people.

Is there a link or contact for the gazebos on Skaneateles Lake?

There's one gazebo. Check with the village. They'll know who to contact. It may be them since it's in one of the parks on the lake.
