WORKSHOP ON FUNDING A BUSINESS SLATED FOR SEPT. 12 AT THE TECH GARDEN

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — “Innovation partners” from around Central New York will host the 2nd annual “Funding Roadmap” workshop for aspiring entrepreneurs and established startups.

The event is set for Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at CenterState CEO’s Tech Garden in downtown Syracuse.

The “Funding Roadmap” is a full-day workshop on funding a business and includes local “innovation partners and successful entrepreneurs” from around the community, per a news release. Armory Square Ventures and Pathfinder Bank are sponsoring the event.

The “Syracuse Innovation Connectors,” the group hosting the event, consist of local leaders within government, business, incubation, acceleration, and resource organizations across Central New York. Their mission is to “support, engage and connect CNY’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

The workshop will include a panel of local entrepreneurs on “Concept to Launch to Growth” featuring local entrepreneurs. It will also include presentations and panels on non-traditional funding routes, preparing for an investor pitch, and what programs are available in Central New York to help startups.

The “Funding Roadmap” costs $10 for attendees and includes all day programming, lunch, and a happy hour. To register and see the full agenda, those interested can visit www.thetechgarden.com/events or call Lynn Hughes, director of operations at the Tech Garden at (315) 470-1970.

Should I post this here? My son went to Syracuse for the first time this past weekend. They (he and his friends from the area) went to the New York State Fair on Saturday and had a great time! His favorite thing was the cows which were being walked around the fairgrounds.

Why not? Nice to hear that he enjoyed it and the Fair has a record attendance this year.
