If I didn't buy my current house, I would go for this one... I love it. It cracks me up though - her landscaping in the front - she uses mismatched plates as her edging. I walk by it frequently and always smile/laugh when I see it

$119,900. Taxes are $3970. Fenced-in yard... a third of an acre. 4bd, 1 ba.

$128,500. Taxes are $5309. No fenced-in yard but it's just shy of half an acre and has beautiful grounds and decks. Completely remodeled and tons of space.

$169,900. Taxes are $5100. No fenced-in yard but the backyard is amazing. AMAZING. French, garden-party style, complete with stone walkways and herb shed. (Imagine the house without all the STUFF. lol)

I saw that! lol - I was thinking "Yeahhhh - I wouldn't be taking closeups of weirdness for the MLS photos." It's an easy fix, to be sure, but still...

Is there anything else that you may have questions about in regards to the area?

This may remind you of the old neighborhood once you get here: http://www.cnymenus.com/menus/evas_jun11.pdf

What a great house for that price. I love it. Taxes are super high for the price, but its still worth it considering the mortgage alone would be only around $350/month.

I'm actually surprised the listing price is what it is - I feel like it should be higher. That makes me wonder if there are some issues that aren't publicly posted.

And to put it into perspective, my monthly payment is around $800. About half of that is the actual mortgage, with the other half being taxes, insurance, etc. I forget what my yearly taxes are, but the Village tax definitely bumps it up a bit.

Another thing to possibly consider is that there may be homes/addresses that don't have high walk scores, but are within walking distance to some of the things that you are looking for. So, if there is a home you like, it could be a matter of checking things like proximity to shopping, parks, schools, as well as say sidewalks. Here are some listings for homes that fit your criteria: RealtyUSA - Property - Property-List

Nobody ever responded to the suggestion of the Sedgewick neighborhood in Syracuse proper. The houses in that historic area look amazing, and some are right in our price range. Also, they appear to be walkable to both 1) schiller park, with an amazing pool and slide and 2) a small commercial area on the corner of Park & Oak, including Rileys, which I can only find good things written about it online, along with a number of pizza shops and a corner market. Can anyone chime in on what seems to be a perfect fit and just what we're looking for?
