Wife & I thinking of taking a short (3 month) lease on a furnished apartment June-August at either Rivers Pointe or Hammocks at Timberbanks to spend summer near Twin 4 1/2 year old Grand-daughters who live in Camillus.
Any comments positive or negative would be greatly appreciated.

Both sets of apartments are pretty new in terms of the last few years. Timber Banks has a golf course. So, that may be a nice amenity to take advantage of. Rivers Pointe is very close to plenty of shopping on the Route 31 corridor in Clay. This is the closest shopping area to Timber Banks as well. Rivers Pointe has some nice amenities too. Timber Banks is probably a shorter drive to Camillus due to closer access to 690.

One more thing, once this project gets its apartments built: Township 5, Syracuse, NY | Cameron Group LLC it could be another possible option in the future.

Thank you for the responses so far. No, Becca we decided not to move permanently for many reasons, most of all because my daughter could not guarantee (who really can), that she would be staying in Syracuse permanently and we don't believe in following our children around.
We visit every 6 weeks or so but this year, now that we are both retired, we decided to spend the whole summer there and subsequent summers if this works out and the property continues to have short-term furnished leases available.
You have a great memory though.
Proulxfamily, I don't quite get your post; is it directed to me or someone else who responded to my thread?

Gotcha

I know Rivers Pointe was just built within the past few years I believe, but don't have any direct experience with either of the complexes. Another option would be to look at vacation rentals through a site like VRBO.

You could possibly look into these rentals, which are closer to Camillus: Sutton Real Estate Company, LLC

Thayer House » MCK Building Associates, Inc.

Upper Crown Mill Condominiums » MCK Building Associates, Inc.

The Logan Building » MCK Building Associates, Inc.

Lakeview House Condominiums » MCK Building Associates, Inc.

I would check out information on leases and availability, if interested.

I've actually checked into both complexes. I would highly recommend rivers pointe over timber banks only because of the overall feel of the apartments. Timberbanks are a few years old but they feel dark. The up side is the golf course. Rivers pointe just felt so comfortable and made me want to move in immediately. I believe they have the same price point. Timber is more in the country and rivers is literally right behind the epicenter of Clay shopping and restaurants.
