Default Madison County -- Terrain?

What is the terrain like in Madison County?

It's a tad confusing because I know it's not on the high hills of the Catskill area nor the low Mohawk valley.

Is it in the middle? Hilly? Flat?
Is it heavily forested? Or are trees sporadic?

Specifically the Morrisville area.

Thanks a bunch!

-North of Canastota is flat
-South of Canastota is hilly

A few videos taken near Morrisville shows the terrain in that part of Madison County...

Morrisville has an enormous hill coming into it from Rt 81. The area has a rolling landscape for the most part. All of upstate is wooded.

Default Ah, Morrisville

Well, yes, there is a big hill coming down into, but to get there you have to travel a-ways East, over hill and dale, past rural farms, woodlands (lots of maples and pines!) past little villages... FYI, there are parts that are speed traps, so don't speed Rt 20, especially outside of Cazenovia!!!!

When you get there, with the exception of the college, you'll see it's a pretty small town: One grocery, a post office 2 gas stations, a laundry mat, a good pizza place, a hardware store (where they don't allow backpacks!) a honky-tonk and the library. There's a nice restaurant, a Chinese take-out place... Oh, and opf course there's a local K-12, and "Sectionals" for various sports are held there...

It's secluded, and somewhat far away from nightlife, but most of the students at the SUNY seem more interested in their studies than in trying to go into the cities (Syracuse or, further away, Utica and Rome)...I'm not sure what the social life for the students is like...

During the Summer almost all of Rt. 20 is "invaded" by visitors to the world's largest antique festival--it seems like there are miles and miles of people "antigue-ing".

All in all, a nice, quiet place.
