Why would anyone contact the paper, give them your name, and speak badly of your ex-employer and the labor board? a quick Google search would tell me that person is not someone I would want working for me because they use poor judgement. If you feel it must be said, do it anonymously.
Ala Mode in Nottingham Plaza claims to have homemade French Onion Soup. Sadly, you would have to deal with their horrible and slow service to find out if it is any good.
If there's anything I hate more than bad French Onion soup, it's PAYING for bad French Onion soup... which it would be, if it's cold. gah - thanks for the suggestions though!
If the treatment of employees and hygiene conditions are as described, the place surely deserves to go out of business and the owner sued.
But if you are going to call out a restaurant owner for bigotry, it seems rather uncouth to then make fun of his German name and associate it with Hitler even though it has a pretty innocuous meaning. Just because someone is allegedly racist that doesn't give one the right to be racist back.

That takes any credibility these people have away. It seemed frivolous as it was.
I only ate at Danzer's once, years ago, and it seemed like a dump even then. (And it's in such a benightedly remote location, too...)
The tiredness of Danzer's reminded me also of the (late) Saratoga Steaks which for some reason, everyone from Syracuse University liked to go for fancy lunch meetings, but the place stunk like they never washed the rugs and the food was overcooked and tasteless.
There are a lot of restaurants in the Syracuse area that have seen better days but still hang on because they're "tradition" or something.
Then there's The Mission, which seems to be coasting mainly on its decor. I've eaten there 3 times over the past 5 years and kept waiting for the food to magically be something special. It never was.

You are not the first person I've heard/seen that has said that about The Mission.

Add me to that list. I went once and didn't get what all the raving was about. It was mediocre at best and the service sucked.
