Pompey is served by three school districts, the aforementioned Fabius-Pompey, Cazenovia ,and Fayetteville-Manlius. All three are top notch. Pompey itself is beautiful, mostly rural with a few newer developments. We love it here.

And Jamesville-Dewitt as well! Since Pompey is the largest town in Onondaga County, it wanders into quite a few districts... pretty much all of those it borders.

You might be able to get a house for that much pretty much anywhere in the area.

Here's some other nice Syracuse city neighborhoods too:Neighborhood Link - The Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association, Syracuse, New York 13207

Sedgewick
SEDGWICK FARM NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Westcott East Neighborhood Association
Westcott

Berkeley Park

Eastwood Neighborhood Association Home
Walkable Eastwood

and some others as well.
CKH...I just have to tell you, those links that you posted are SO informative, and I can hardly peel myself away! I love history, and reading is what I do best.

From the pictures, I like WESTCOTT alot. And BERKELEY DRIVE looks inviting. But to be honest, we are just regular joes, not into impressing people with cars and things..would we fit in? Sometimes these old grand neighborhoods are intimidating!

Anyways, the different styles of the homes are impressive! I'm learning so much about your lovely area...Thanks to you and everyone else who responded to my questions.

Thanks Boomvang!! Are there any pics of POMPEY? I went to the library today and found Pompey on the atlas map.

It would be neat to have "Pompey" as our address !!

I lived in Pompey from 13-18 years old, my mom grew and aunts grew up there, and my parents and younger siblings still live out there. I'll dig through my pictures to see if I have many of the countryside. I know I have a few but it's not the part that most people see... I'll post them shortly.

Sorry for posting pics with people - lol - these just happen to show Pompey (during an All Saints Day party on November 1st.) They don't nearly showcase how lovely the area is... the area most people see is exactly opposite this side. But truly - the views from the very tops of hills (everywhere - lol) are simply breathtaking, especially during the lush months of spring and summer and a kaleidoscope of color in autumn's peak.

looking south-southwest near the village of Fabius-

looking west-

Driving north on Ridge Road (south of Route 20) at dusk, coming from feeding the horses in early spring-

Heading west on No. 5 Road-

June 1st: Eastbound on No. 5 Road East (heading to Manlius)... down the winding road into Oran-Delphi's valley. The hill ridge you see at the top overlooks Cazenovia.

Westcott is nice and close to the University too. It kind of has an Ann Arbor vibe to it. I would think you would like Eastwood too. Another area could be the Northside north of Grant Boulevard too. Salt Springs and Meadowbrook on the Eastside, next to Westcott are fine too. Tipperary Hill, Lincoln Hill/Park, Outer Comstock, University and the South Valley neighborhoods wouldn't be bad either.

Thanks so much Proulx! I like pics of people!~especially cute kids in costumes! Wow, Pompey is lovely, lots of country space and mountain views. Very nice.

How far is Pompey from Syracuse?
