If you want a planned community, this development in the Baldwinsville SD initially called Lysander New Community is one worth looking into: https://radissoncommunity.nabrnetwork.com/

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ra...7!4d-76.293479

https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...,-76.227594,13 (in the eastern portion of the district, but just west of the Seneca River/straddling of Route 31)
Map: https://radissoncommunity.nabrnetwor...20Radisson.pdf

It has a lot of recreational options, including its own golf course, trails, an Ice Arena, outdoor basketball and tennis courts with lights. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.1886...6!9m2!1b1!2i37

There is also a corporate park with many companies/employers: https://esd.ny.gov/sites/default/fil...%20Sheet_0.pdf

https://radissoncommunity.nabrnetwor...essListing.pdf

There are also multiple apartment complexes in the community. https://esd.ny.gov/radisson-apartments-and-townhouses

There is plenty of big box shopping to the east along Route 31 straddling both sides of I-481: https://www.google.com/maps/@43.1854...2!9m2!1b1!2i37

To the west is the walkable village of Baldwinsville: https://www.baldwinsville.org/

It is in a good school district as well(East Syracuse-Minoa). It is an old railroad village that is east of the Dewitt Yards. There is some walkability in the village: https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0775...2!9m2!1b1!2i37

As mentioned before, there are some nice, newer homes in the Minoa Farms development(keep an eye on property taxes though): https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0677...6!9m2!1b1!2i37

There is a nice trail nearby at Minoa Farms Park. More village info: Village of Minoa

F-M is nice, but it is the 5th biggest suburban school district in the area in terms of residential population. North Syracuse, Liverpool, Baldwinsville and West Genesee(6th biggest, if you include the more exurban/rural Central Square SD that straddles the Onondaga/Oswego Co. line in Brewerton). So, there are other suburban options with more people.
Minoa is unique though, compared to other areas in Syracuse.

The main reason is that there is a stronger community feel, where everyone has each other's back.

I don't see that in the richer areas like J-Dewitt or F-Manlius areas. Definitely don't see that tight community feel in Syracuse itself.

That isn’t unique to the area though. There are other communities in the area with a strong community feel, including those that you mentioned in some regard.
