Wow, they actually won a game against a real team!
recent games were so boring and predictable that I didn't even bother watching the game,
got too used to the all losses,
I'm still pretty numb
it will probably take a winning season and a bowl game before I begin caring about College Football again,
anyway, nice win, almost forgot how it is to take pride in SU Football LOL

Okay
Espn reports Greg Robinson has been fired
So what is next for the Orange?
Who do you think or want to be the next coach?
What can they do now to bring the program back to prominence?
Cant wait to see it happen because I know the northeast has the best athletes in this country
And werent they called the Orangemen before

good move - i still don't like syracuse, but would like to see them at least a little bit more competative, seems more interesting that way
i also prefer the new style unis although I wish they'd bring back the "men"
I also wouldn't say that as far as football is concerned that the NE is where the talent is at

There's a rumor that Lane Kiffin (blech) is being considered, but I'd bet it's no more than a rumor. One of the problems with Robinson was that he had no recruiting connections in the northeast. They need someone with regional background.
Count me in the camp of going back to the old unis. I do like the new orange color, but I don't like the style - especially the all orange setup.

well i was talking about just pure overall athletic ability, not just in football
high school football is much bigger in other areas because we have a more diverse range of athletics and athletes

Gross, it seems, was trying to make SU the USC of the Northeast and it wasn't happening. Robinson didn't have the ties to the NE HS Football scene that Pasqualoni or MacPherson had, because he was a West Coast guy. In that sense, I felt sorry for him, because he didn't really know what he was getting into.
Also, keep in mind that the 1987 team that went 11-0-1 did it with a lot of NY HS Football talent. Don McPherson was from West Hempstead(should have won the Heisman that year), Rob Moore was from Hempstead, Pat Kelly the TE was from webster outside of Rochester, Blake Bednarz was from Blaisdell(I think he went to Frontier High) just south of Buffalo, Daryl Johnston the FB went to Lewiston-Porter outside of Niagara Falls, Robert Drummond went to Jamesville-DeWitt just outside of Syracuse, Chris Ingram one of the CB's went to Fowler High a Syracuse City HS and many, many more. So, it's not like the athletes aren't here in NY. We just need the coaches with the connections to get the top players from the state, along with some other top players from other states like NJ, Florida, Ohio and PA, among others.
