Very nice photos of the village of Manlius. It covers pretty much the essence of the community and what it has to offer.

Thanks, ckh. I wasn't able to get to Mill Run Park today but I'll definitely get pics the next time we walk over.
It should be noted that Pavone's Pizza is across from the shops you see on the right in my first post. Pavone's has the best pizza and wings in the metro area, so it's a HUGE asset to the village, I think. LOL!
P&C Grocery store, CVS, and the post office are also located within the village, though the first two are more hidden, thankfully. I love that we're able to walk anywhere we need to. In this challenging national economy, I hope more people start recognizing and APPRECIATING the convenience, community, and "green" potential of upstate villages. We certainly are pleased with it.

Yeah, the first two are off of Route 173. I think there might be more interest in villages and nice urban areas due to the way the economy is lately.

Brilliant photos!
I can fix the pics so they line up if you'd like? Just need to use the space bar between each photo link....

Would you mind? I would love that - I edited so many times because the link to my facebook account kept showing up and then they were running straight across the page. LOL
And Thanks!

That looks like a nice place. I especially like the idea of a Purple Hippo and an Ugly Duckling in town. Where I live now we don't have those types of things. Nor do we have sidewalks, so walking is pretty precarious at the best of times!
I love towns, villages, and cities that are easy to walk in. I grew up walking pretty much everywhere. My parents wouldn't drive me up the road to my friend's house, NO WAY! We walked. Even after I got my driver's license, I still walked.
Before I moved to NC from Toronto area, I lived within walking distance of pretty much everything anyone could possibly need. The "city planners" here in Morganton just sort of throw darts at the city map to figure out where to put stuff

Absolutley Beautiful!!!
The pictures of Manlius really made me homesick. I showed them to some friends and co-workers and they were impressed. A few of them are from New England, with one telling me it remined them of their childhood home in western Mass. .
The only thing I noticed is there were not many people walking along the streets and by-ways, there were a couple of pictures with a little girl and a person walking their dog. I have been to Manlius on occasion and it is a thriving place. Thanks again.

LOL, Planner. I went on a walk with my three toddlers at 10am on a Thursday morning... everyone was in the middle of working. And I specifically chose that time because it's too late for the morning rush and too early for the lunch rush - it's the quietest, safest (in terms of if one of the kids darts away, it won't be into a driveway with someone hurrying to work) time to go out with them. You're right... Manlius is quite bustling normally.
