Smile News Alert: Syracuse Area - New Definition!

Due to recent events, the "Syracuse Area" in the City-Data Forum has now shrunk in size.

Towns and cities that were dropped from the "Syracuse Area" sub-forum are:

- Oswego, Fulton, Auburn, Parish, Pulaski, Mexico, Canastota, Oneida, Morrisville to name a few.

You can now find discussions about these towns in the New York general forum.

What towns make up the Syracuse area sub-forum?

1) Every town, village and city in Onondaga County.
2) Cazenovia, Sullivan, Lakeport, Bridgeport and Chittenango in Madison County.
3) Central Square, Hastings, West Monroe, Phoenix and Pennellville in Oswego County.

Thanks for your cooperation!

1) The large amounts of snowfall in central and northern Oswego County are so drastically different from the immediate Syracuse area.

2) The City of Oswego has its' own sphere of influence quite distinct from the Syracuse area.

3) Ditto for the Auburn area.

4) Central and eastern Madison County are torn between the Syracuse area and the Utica area (Turning Stone too). Since the opening of Turning Stone Casino, Oneida County's influence has spread enough into eastern Madison County that I have trouble viewing it as part of the immediate "Syracuse area".
