Hello everyone,
I'm applying to Syracuse University, my husband to Rochester.
Does that make sense?
]Is it possible to live in a nice place in the middle and travel the distance by train, bus, or carpool? How long will it take to travel? Is there a nice place in the middle with a train going both ways?
They are only an hour and half apart. So yes, you can live in the middle. While I know little, I would find a community within an easy reach of I-90. I'd guess driving is the easiest opinion.
If you do live in between communities like Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Geneva and maybe even Auburn and Canandaigua are idea. It's a trip, but it can be done. My wife drive from Mattydale to Auburn for work every day. It can be tough, but it can be done.

Auburn is not that bad. What side of town were you on? There are plenty of nice neighborhoods in the Eastern half of the city. Even around Casey Park on the Northwestern part of town, you have some nice ethnic neighborhoods.
