There are some north of James that are east of Midler and between Midler and the housing are fine too.
More specifically, the area southwest of James and Teall (roughly spurts off of Shuart) aren't all that great, and the stuff right at Teall along parts of there is more run down than north of James or along James in either direction from there. There are nice houses over there too, but plenty of not-so-nice. It's still fine, for the most part.

That area is hit or miss, but it isn't "bad" in terms of crime or anything, generally. As far as I know. Isn't that the Lincoln Hill/Park area? Here's an interesting info. about the area:Lincoln Park - Lincoln Hill Neighborhood Association, Syracuse, NY

Yep. It's nice to see an active neighborhood association coming together over there; for the longest while it didn't really have one (or at least an effective one).

It was more run-down properties than rough neighborhood. The properties north and east of James tend to be better kept - but it's good to see that may be changing.

I saw the new Walgreens in Eastwood on channel 9 news the other day. Looks great! I bet this one property with all the new landscaping already makes Eastwood feel less drab and depressing.

Could hardy believe that Eastwood residents are fighting the Walgreens sign that would even enhance the property even more. The proposed sign looked classy.

Instead, just as I have come to expect, city residents would rather have a ugly sign that sticks out from the side of the building like on the stripper clubs on the northside! LOL
