In the interim, you can get a better description and a brief glimpse, channel 9 covered it tonight: Le Moyne project awaiting approval - NewsChannel 9 WSYR (see the video; they show the renderings about midway through)

Will try to get a scan tomorrow (only get the Sunday paper delivered at home)

Thanks for posting. I especially like the large amount of glass that was incorporated in the design.

Yeah. I recall when Diamante's was still there it was such a dismal place - the existing structure lets in next to no light whatsoever.

The new facade coupled with the intersection reconfiguration will be a great benefit to the immediate surroundings, if successful.

Thank you RR and ack for the great photos and LeMoyne rendering. The Center of Excellence is looking very nice. Has construction on the CNY Biotechnology Research Center commenced?

I really like the design of the bookstore/restaurant that LeMoyne is proposing. For some reason I thought they were just going to renovate the structure that is currently there, yeeesh!

The Kirk Hotel looks kind of nice in the photo. Is the photo pre, post or during renovation?

In a sense they are - a new facade on the whole structure, from the looks of it, but largely in the footprint of the existing building still from what I understand. It's not an entirely useless structure, just very dated - and the full reconfiguration combined with the new facade should fix those issues. Their previous recent construction (most recent fully new structure, to my knowledge, is still the Performing Arts building built in 1999-2000) are quite nice.

It seems they are incorporating some pedestrian connectivity between the campus and the project. The wsyr9 report indicated that they are going to reconfigure the intersection from a five way to a four way signalled intersection.

The photo of the Kirk Hotel was taken around Christmas. It appeared work was still being done to the Fayette Street side of the building, although the facade along Clinton Street looked finished. In reference to the Biotech Center, I don't believe construction has commenced on the new building aside from some demolition work on former Kennedy Square buildings. I could be wrong however.
