Default Reputable real estate agents (rental)?

I just found out I will be moving to the Syracuse area in around six weeks. I would like to rent a house on the East/Southeast part of town or towards Cazenovia. Can anyone recommend real estate agents that are helpful, reliable, etc. (basically good people to be on your side) that I could contact? I know many don't do rentals, even houses, but I thought it would be a good place to start before contacting owners directly who are trying to rent (it's not always easy to tell who the crazies are when it comes to landlords).

Thanks

I bought my house in Outer University through Steve Moyer of Prudential. Former schoolteacher... really nice guy and not high pressure nor do you ever get the sense that there's any BS involved. I'm as comfortable recommending him as anyone. Just call the Prudential real estate office on East Genesee in Dewitt to reach him. He seems to do a lot of listing in the outer east side of the city in Salt Springs, Outer University and out towards Dewitt.

We don't really have local realtors (that I know of) who specialize in rentals but the active ones may know of good possibilities. Another realtor whose name I see quite often in this same area and also has a good reputation (although I've never worked with him) is Andrew Bessemer. He advertises as "the old house specialist" and often does the listings for the nicer Victorians in the area.

Pei Lin Huang is also a possibility but I think she's a much higher profile individual with a strong focus on high sales volume and don't know if she'd be as good a choice. But she is the third name I see that is very active in this end of town.

Can't help at all on Cazenovia.

I know two great realtors in Cazenovia (offices in Manlius and Dewitt/Fayetteville) but I don't think they do rentals... you could certainly call and inquire though.
