When I moved to Hawaii, I had never been here before and had to find a place with roommates before I got here. Moving to Syracuse, I'll be set for a month and will have time to browse around and see the different areas. I've just always liked suburbs more than cities. Even though I'm not directly in downtown Honolulu, it's still just too much of a city for me.

I've heard that Onondaga is a happening place... it's such a shame that the lake is polluted so much! I would love to have a place like that to cool off. Oh well!

I'm glad I'm moving in the summer, at least this way I can ease into everything. I'm going to have to find some winter hobbies!!
In the winter, there are still festivals, athletic events, plays, music venues and other recreational things like ice skating in Clinton Square to keep you interested.

Syracuse has a very underrated Arts scene, in my opinion. If you are into the Arts, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Here's some more information you might like to look at: Syracuse Arts Net Home , Syracuse Arts Net Directory

Syracuse Winterfest

City of Syracuse - Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs

Lights on the Lake

Home

Syracuse University Athletics

Syracuse Stage - The Professional Theatre of Central New York

Welcome to Syracuse Opera!

Syracuse Symphony Orchestra

and more.......

Yup and I think there is something across from Heid's too. I think it is a bar/sushi restaurant. Then, you have the cute business district on 2nd Street.

The Retreat is another good place to check out in the village too. There are some spots north of the village on Route 57 too.

Oh and here's a good publication to check out to see what is going on in the area: http://www.syracusenewtimes.com/

I am also moving to Syracuse at the end of July to work at the air port. Pretty weird huh.

My girlfriend and I are looking at the liverpool area or renting one of the lofts downtown.

You can live just about anywhere in the Greater Syracuse area, as it only takes no more than 20 minutes to get anywhere.
