Good hotel in east suburbs/towns?
What are some good options for hotels with easy access to Manlius? It doesn't have to be *in* Manlius, but a quick drive would be nice. What I mean by good includes: quiet (not paper-thin walls); relatively soft, comfy beds; decent complimentary breakfast or close to diners or other breakfast places; and obviously, clean and in a safe neighborhood :-)
Thanks!

Close is relative the one that comes to mind immediately is The Craftsman Inn.

It's in Fayetteville but only a few short miles from Manlius on local roads. I think there's at least one diner style breakfast place a short distance up the road in the Fayetteville village proper. Across the road is Town Center with major grocery store, Target etc. and a mix of both independent and chain restaurants including a good sushi/Korean/Japanese place, a mid-Eastern establishment and some chains such as Carabba's, Pizzeria Uno, Bonefish, Red Robin and Panera. Also right nearby are a Starbucks and an independent coffee house called Freedom of Espresso.
I don't think Manlius has any hotels at all. The next closest area with hotels is Carrier Circle and the Rte 298 area. the back roads form there to manlius are about a 20 minute drive at most and although some of the hotels right around Carrier Circle have seen betetr days there's a fairly new Hilton Garden Inn, a Candlewood Suites and a Spring Hill Suites currently under construction.

I would recommend the Craftsman Inn. Although reviews of tripadvisor and expedia have been mixed, I have stayed there several times and was satisfied. The hotel is appointed with Stickley furniture and has the feel of a ski lodge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is available at the Limestone Grille, the hotel's adjacent restaurant. The Craftsman's location in Fayetteville puts you about as close to Manlius as one can get. Across the street is the Towne Center shopping plaza which contains a sushi place, a Bonefish Grill (seafood), and two Italian restaurants of the chain variety. Nearby is the upscale Erad Evans Inn eatery and Papa Gallo mexican restaurant.
Here are some links to the restaurants:

Another option further west and closer to Syracuse (but further from Manlius) is the Hilton Garden Inn which is in the Carrier Circle area. Although the hotel is further away (20 minutes from Manlius), I would highly recommend it as I stayed there recently. The beds were very comfortable and their cooked to order omelets were excellent.

Thank you! It does look like the Craftsman is our closest option, although the hotels at Carrier Circle will work too, if we can't get reservations. I think I was sold on the Craftsman when you said it was close to a Panera! ;-)

Panera is the best! The one in Fayetteville has a nice layout. Starbucks is also across the street.

And almost right across the street is our favorite sushi place... Oriental Star. Yum! Sushi made-to-order, every time.
