Default Anyone know of a beauty supply that caters to African American clients? I.E...Human Hair, Braiding, etc.

Help somebody, looking to get Kinky Twist nicely done. Looking for referrals out of the Syracuse NY area. Thanks

Are you looking for a local shop that supplies the hair for doing braiding, extensions etc. or instead are you looking for a referral to a person who performs the service itself?

Sally Beauty Supply on Erie Blvd. in the old Hechinger Plaza is the go-to local supplier for black hair care products. It's the mostly empty plaza down behind Taco Bell (between Thompson Rd and Bridge Street) where the Discount Card and Party Outlet store is located.

There are two African owned hair braiding salons on North Salina Street - one at the corner of Ash (I think that may be the beginning of the 600 block) and one further up. There are also a number of African women who provide the service privately from their homes but I regret that I have no names to refer you to. You might check with the folks at the Caribbean-African food market in the 700 block of North Salina for referrals or suggestions also.
