Just a little background about me. I'm a photographer out of Arizona that mainly shoots local dirt track racing. I shoot some national events as they come to town such as the Lucas Off Road series, USAC races, IMCA races and ASCS races. I'm one of the very few photographers in Arizona that covers around 50 races a year. As stupid as it maybe this is what I do for a living.
Anyway a big part of why I'm choosing to move to Syracuse is because it seems to be centrally located around quite a few dirt tracks. I have never been to any of them nor do I know anyone out there. I'd like to start building this network right now so that when I get there I'm not a complete stranger and have some sort of idea of who's who and what's going on in the NY world of dirt track racing.

If any of you are into that scene please do say hello, I'll be glad to meet you. I love this sport and even if my work takes me in a different direction once I get to NY I still plan on visiting the local race tracks quite a bit. Hell I may even buy a car and start racing them rather than taking pictures of them.

Anyway here are a few shots that I figured I'd share with those that are into this type of racing. I heard dirt track racing was really big up there. That's not the case in Arizona

Oh I know where all the tracks are and I have all the contacts. I did my homework there. I just don't know anyone that likes to play in the dirt up in NY. It would be nice to know some people that are into the same things as I am. Thank you though.

Do you go watch the races out there?

You'll find a LOT of track-fans in the Cicero-Brewerton-Central Square area. I'm not- no, but I wish you luck in finding like-minded people who might help you feel at home, here in cny.

Are you into drag racing, road racing, or asphalt circle track stuff? Do you race or just enjoy it as a fan? I like all type of motorsports. I'm a little bias but I like it all for the most part.

Cool. I'm sure I'll be checking some of that out while I'm up there. I know racing season is short so I have to get my fix before it's over haha. Out here we have some sort of racing year round. My dirt track season goes from Jan to Nov.

I like dirt tracks--havent been to one since I got back from Vegas. I do prefer asphalt tracks--nothing beats seeing the sprinters at Oswego. Used to race at Owego/Tioga in the superstocks years ago

How long has it been since you got back from Vegas? I have a sprint car race to shoot this weekend out here in Arizona. I'd be looking forward to it but last Sat it was 115 out here. I love racing but that will make anyone 2nd guess on whether they truly want to go haha. I'm pretty excited about being able to watch big block modifies for the the first time though. We don't have those out here. But then again it doesn't seem like NY has too much sprint car racing. I'll miss that.
