Pavones Pizza has a relatively thin crust, but it is tough as shoe leather. Their cheese and tomato sauce have excellent flavor, however.

Is Varsity Pizza up on the SU hill still good? I remember going up to SU, hitting Sutters Mill, then a slice at Varsity Pizza. Of course I was drunk, so anything tasted good. I would have to agree with stapletonb4, Twin Trees is a great option.

The Pavone's in Shoppingtown Mall is like this... but on Warren downtown and in Manlius, it definitely isn't. It's a very thin, crispy crust- I always fold my slices in half and they usually start to break at the fold and oil and sauce and gooey cheese start leaking through.
YUM! lol

Sure is!! LOL - that's why I never order their pizza without wings too. :P It comes with blue cheese... SCORE! haha
A large, crusty cheese pizza with 2 dozen wings (splittable) to order for $25. It could be considered expensive, I guess, but it's too delicious to judge. lol

I've now been to all 3 Pavone's locations and I have to say, the one on Butternut has been the best of the best (though they are all still head and shoulders above any other places we have tried). Only wish I felt safe enough on Butternut to go there alone for lunch during the day!

You have more pizza-eating to do, then! lol - Pavone's has 5 locations... Warren Street downtown, Butternut (never been to that one), Shoppingtown Mall, the village of Manlius, and on Bridge St. in East Syracuse. Good stuff.

Hey, when I googled them only 3 locations came up - wonder what gives?? Guess I have to go find the one on Bridge and the one in Manlius next
The one on Butternut is closest to where I am living (though thank God, not too close!).
