News 10 Now | 24 Hour Local News | TOP STORIES | Electric cars to be produced locally
It has been reported that a warehouse in Clay, New York was the site of the new plant (as pointed out by acknight). However, news10now is reporting that other locations around CNY are still in consideration. It seems a decision will take place shortly. In any event, it is great news!
Great post CUPlanner!

I am not talking about giving the jobs to immigrants of East Indian origin.
I am talking about giving the jobs to Indians who are here only on a WORK VISA and who still pay taxes to India. The visa I speak of is the L1 and it is available to foreign companies in unlmited quantities.
Any of who who care, should contact the ringleader, Schumer, and ask them if L1 visas are prohibited or limited in this situation and if JOBS created are reserved for bona filde residents of the USA (citizens and green card holders).

That's definitely a situation I wasn't aware of! Yikes. I'm not sure how the government can, in good conscience... hell, just in good SENSE... invest grants into a company that will end up giving nothing back but manufacturing gases/pollution to threaten our nation, rather than theirs. :/

still...they will move here...so they will pay sales tax, property tax and all the tax we have to pay except income tax. I think the whole thing about Indians coming here and living here on visas is bull..people are dieing to live in the U.S. they will definitely become citizens...and there kids will automatically become citizens..it isn't a big deal...people just make some so little into a big deal...specially the whole TATA a crap...thats complete bull. There is no evidence any of that is true.

You are sadly misinformed. Don't hide your head in the sand. Know why? Because if your head is in the sand, guess what is sticking up in the air as a big target?
L-1 visas are not for those seeking citizenship and never lead to citizenship or permanent residency. This visa is solely for people whose foreign company has directed them to work in the USA on a temporary basis.
Their children that they bring with them do not become US citizens.
If you have any balls and actually want to prove me "wrong," then call Schumer's office and ask, "In terms of the electric car plant, are the jobs created going to be for Americans ... citizens or permanent residents? Is Reva going to be allowed to bring in L-1 visa labor?"
Or are you afraid to see that I am correct after all and the Reva plant will go the way the rest of the Indian companies who open in America goes ... jobs to INDIANS here on a temporary only basis?

Check out this thread:

Seems the much-vaunted "bringing in industry for jobs" is resulting in too many jobs NOT being for Americans.
