Proulx- Yeah, I was being a bit over-dramatic...lol. Pretty morbid, but not more morbid than falling to my death...haha! A nearly totalled car would be so bad, especially since one of them just got paid off! The broken bones too...but hey, we have good insurance for that....haha.
We aren't too sure of a specific area we are looking in yet. We heard that Baldwinsville and Liverpool were really good options, but we haven't been able to find too much online as far as rentals go. We have looked on Craigslist and Realtor.com. My husband is actually going up ahead of us because he has to start work mid-November. I will be following with the kids and dogs around the beginning of December after we get our renters in our house and our belongings on a moving truck. My husband will be wandering around looking for a house. I'm hoping he finds something by the time we get there. That is good news about signs out front because it is pretty frustrating looking online!

Cool...I was stationed at Fort Gordon for AIT during my time in the Army. Augusta isn't too bad.

Snow is exaggerated in Syracuse. When it starts snowing, it will snow a lot, all at once. But it only happens maybe once or twice a week tops. Most of the time it happens in the early mornings or late nights. It rarely ever snows during the day. The plows are top of the line. They do a great job cleaning up the roads. Also, don't be scared to buy a house in the city of Syracuse. You can find one for really cheap, and the city is really not that bad at all. Syracuse has the least murders out of all the big cities in New York State.

Thanks everyone! Yes, Augusta isn't bad at all...especially once you get into the smaller towns outside of it. My husband was working at Ft. Gordon on a contract. One more week until he is in Syracuse and 3 more until I am there! Can't wait!
