Default Does anyone have 1978 high school year books

Am trying to help a friend of mine find his son who was put up for adoption
as a baby. We are looking for copies of 1978 year books to help us in our search. Need Syracuse area yearbooks. My friends son would be age 49 now.

What school are you looking for? I know that at the libraries in North Syracuse and Cicero, they have old yearbooks from the old Cicero and North Syracuse High Schools.

All of the local high schools....all we have is the date of birth of his son and the profession of the couple that adopted him. Supposedly they were from the Syracuse area. New York State has closed adoption records, so we are trying to match up males who have the same DOB.

We are willing to pay for copies....It would be the class of 1978 more than likely.

There are a LOT of high schools in the Syracuse area. And all the Catholic high schools that were still open...

Four city high schools - Henniger, Fowler, Corcoran and Nottingham.
Jamesville-Dewitt
Fayetteville-Manlius
Fabius-Pompey
Cazenovia
DeRuyter
Tully
LaFayette
Chittenango
East Syracuse-Minoa
Central Square
Cicero-North Syracuse
Phoenix
Liverpool
Baldwinsville
Skaneateles
Onondaga
Marcellus
West Genesee
Westhill

Manlius Pebble Hill - secular, private, very $$$$$. In the Jamesville-Dewitt district. Perhaps a half mile-one mile from CBA.
Faith Heritage - Christian, private. In the city of Syracuse/south side. South of the city's Corcoran high school.
Christian Brothers Academy/CBA - Catholic, private. In the Jamesville-Dewitt district, previously all-boy. Up the hill from the city's Nottingham high school.
Bishop Grimes - Catholic, private. In the East Syracuse-Minoa district.
Bishop Ludden - Catholic, private. In the Westhill district. Bordering the city's Fowler high school.

St. Daniel's, Sacred Heart, Assumption, Most Holy Rosary, Ascension, St. Paul's, Cathedral, St. Patrick's, St. Charles, St. Ann's, St. Matthew's, St. Rose of Lima... most of these were high schools back then and are either open still, though not through high school, or just recently closed.

***If any of you regulars can think of more, please chime in.

He doesn't even know his own sons name? He could easily find him online.

Obviously, if he's been adopted, he didn't name his son. It's likely that the child was adopted out as an infant and back then, most adoptions were "closed." No contact between families.

In 1978 it was either Cicero High School or North Syracuse High School, not Cicero-North Syracuse...people tend to forget this

... or just be ignorant of it entirely. LOL - I wasn't born until the early 80's. My mother was a junior in high school in 1978.

Perhaps, like you, those who remember can chime in with what schools were which back then... though hopefully, they'd still be able to contact the existing school districts to find information for any previously-consolidated schools.

Yup, the schools didn't combine until 1983. So, the North Syracuse SD had two high schools from 1967(or so)-1983.
