Make him drive an hour when 20 minutes, on the long side, would do. lol - both options still leaving me with just an hour's commute to the Ra-cha-cha.
I know.....I mentioned it, because considering what they are looking for, Ithaca would be a good fit. Unfortunately, it is a bit too far and out of the way. Maybe Canandaigua, Geneva, Waterloo, Seneca Falls, Auburn or some other community in the Finger Lakes can do. Maybe the Western suburbs of Syracuse or the Eastern suburbs of Rochester could work too.

Thank you everyone! Not mad at the hubby and since he's NEVER driven in snow before (and not looking forward to it either) I would rather he have the shorter commute.

My line of Study is Deaf Education. I could only find this program at RIT and Buffalo.

Please keep the suggestions coming. I am looking into everything and you guys are helping me understand the area better. Thanks so much!!

Syracuse-Rochester you're pretty much only talking Amtrak and Greyhound, not local systems.

If you want him closer to Syracuse, but closer to Rochester and good schools with some diversity, I guess the best bet might be Liverpool. You would be close to the Thruway and Liverpool is a good school district that is one of the most diverse suburban school districts in the area. He could take I-81 from Liverpool into Syracuse too. If you want something a bit more west of Syracuse, besides Baldwinsville, West Genesee and Westhill SD's might work too. Interestingly, another western suburban school district, Solvay, has a BOCES Deaf program at their high school and I believe West Genesee has that program at the elementary and middle school levels. Westhill used to have that program at their HS when I went there.
