Yea, ok.

You got what you paid for.
I got a Sony PRS-350 from a friend. Paid $0. I rather like it, so I question your assertion.

That's a Reader, though. Retail price $79.
Not a true Android Tablet. And a bargain @ FREE!

The Coby 7" Color $100 Android tablet is utter garbage.
Dollars to donuts that's what that person has...

+1 Compare an Asus Transformer to an Ipad if you are trying to make a fair comparison.

I picked up a few 10" HP 32GB Touchpads when they were $130. With Android ICS they are pretty good little tablets. A few quirks since they were never a native Android tablet, but the hardware for the money is awesome (Dual core overclocked to 1800 Mhz).

I still read on a 7" Nook Color that is running Android (not using the Nook app though). I just upgraded it to ICS, but there are a few hiccups with Open GL and video....not an issue since it is just being used for reading duty right now.

I pre-ordered the 16GB Nexus 7. This is going to be my new book reader.

I am controlling my 3 home thermostats, alarm panel, energy monitoring (TED5000), camera monitoring, and camera recording (IPcam viewer) with Android tablets/phones right now. Every time I get a new device, the old ones are going to live in strategic points around the house or be mounted to the wall as thermostat/alarm panel touch pads.

My netbook is on the fritz and I'm sad. I thought about a tablet but after playing with a friends I don't like typing on it. I tend to have my lapbook nearby and on and continually pick it up to research a thought, a question, look for a product, surf etc. while I'm watching tv and that's a fair amt of typing even just as a web device. I LOVE my netbook and all the crappy technology web writers are killing them with all their reporting of them being passe and over. You can't sit a tablet in your lap and use two hands to type very well. I like a keyboard and no I don't want to screw around with a dock. The new and probably last ASUS 1025 doesn't get very good reviews, like they didn't care. So I have to find an older one to buy.
Tablets are good for reading, watching youtube.

Have you actually SEEN a transformer? No you have not. Because you wouldn't make the "dock" copmment if you did.

Look like a dock? You never have to remove it. It IS a Netbook in just about every sense except the battery last EVEN LONGER.

And God forbid I get yelled at by the Apple people. You can make your iPad a nice little "NetBook", too:

Perfect for couch surfing.

I received an iPad 1 as a gift. I use it to watch Netflix and stream music. That's about it though. Still prefer my bulky Toshiba laptop for most purposes.

What did you get? I just got the Nexus 7 and am in love. The only necessary mods for me were 1. Root and 2. Ultimate Rotation app so the stock Nexus launcher works in landscape mode. I also have a 7 inch Nook Color and a 10 inch HP Touchpad running Android CM9 builds; they pale in comparison to this new tab though. Games are smooth and comfortable on this size tablet and the processor runs everything I have thrown at it smoothly.
