Default E-reader or tablet you can see on the beach?

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but is there an E-reader or tablet that has a screen that's readable in bright sun? Also, are they hearty enough to withstand a little sand?

Rumor has it that the ubiquitous Kindle will soon have a color screen. I’m not talking about the Kindle Fire tablet, which has been color since its introduction. The rumor says that color is coming to the classical E-ink Kindle display. The advantage of the E-ink display is that it can be read outside in the bright sun. The Fire and other color tablet displays are too reflective to be easily seen in a bright environment.

Any Kindle except the Fire.

Beach sand gets into 'everything', but I doubt it would be a problem unless you cover it in sand.

Thanks, guys. That article sounded very vague, maybe they will/maybe they won't. This is one reason I procrastinate buying tech toys, I'm afraid I'll buy one and then the next month see a new one I'll wish I held out for! I guess if I buy a b&w Kindle though it'll be on the cheap side. Thanks again!

Next Generation Of E-Ink Kindle To Sport New Front-Lit Screen | TechCrunch

The advantage of the E-ink display is that it can be read outside in the bright sun which I'd hope would apply to this device too.

There are waterproof covers for Kindles that work great. A good one is made by TrendyDigital.

That's a great idea! I just ordered a Kindle Keyboard with 3G (and the ads, lol) but didn't see this case in time. I'll put it in my next order.
