It's customization for me. Widgets, Live Wallpaper, using different launchers...
Every iPad looks exactly the same with a different wallpaper. Funny for the company that had that ad referencing 1984 back in the 80's. Don't get me wrong. I like all tech. iPads are great. But just not my preference.
Not into customizing? Tweaking? Get an iPad.
My friend Steve was on the fence. He sent me an email. "Tell me in less then 2 minutes why you like Android better then iPads".
I shot this video (on my Android phone, naturally) and sent it back to him.
I have a IPad2 and a Samsung Tab2. Both were easy to setup and use and both are light. The main difference I see is when they are not in use. Even with some tweaking the Galaxy needs to be charged nearly everyday as it beeps when power is getting low (my S3 does the same thing).I tried to strech the time issue my turning all updates into manual, but it didn't help much. My IPad goes about two weeks without needing a charge (even when I've watched two full length Netflix movies, it still has over 40% in reserves). So basically the Ipad is my go everything tablet and the Tab has become the remote control for my cable box and TV.
Have to disagree w/above (but of course, as always, YMMV). Family members have both tabs (G2 & i3), and the battery life is indistinguishable - several days for either. (no offense, but I run my G2 10.1 heavy and charge weekly. Perhaps there's something else?)

No offense taken. But my IPad lasts longer than my Android devices. I use all mine on wifi and G3. My S3 lasts about 12-15 hours, Tab2 lasts about two days and my IPad goes 10-14 days. The IPad doesn't run an active screen background and doesn't do updates until I tell it to do so.
Try running similar outputs. If one runs more, then of course battery life will be less. In all seriousness, though, I can't burn thru the G2 in a day - w/vid, music, document creation, etc. As always, YMMV.
You need to be specific around here Pruzhany.
You have a "Samsung tab 2"??? What's that?
You cannot generalize every Android tablet. My old tab, the Thrive in the video, had the worst battery life ever. Wife's iPad easily trounced it. Although it is the fastest recharging tab on the market, it had to be. Dead to full in 2 hours.
But my Transformer tab from Asus lasts just as long as her iPad now.
And with the extra battery dock? Trounces it. (Yea, I know that last part is not a fair comparo).
You must use it a lot. But you can't compare a phone to a tablet on battery life anyway.

You want something to charge faster. Get a faster charger. Many devices come with chargers that do only 500-700mA . Upgrade your charger to 2.1A and you'll have faster charging.

10 - 14 days without using it much....
Without using Netflix: Yes. On the other hand I killed it in 6 hours watching three Netflix movies back-to-back on the Ipad. Neither Samsung has ever finished the second movie ( I sit in airports alot between connections).
As I said, my Tab2 is now a remote control for my TV using Peel and thats about it.
You said "Samsing Tab2." Not GALAXY Tab 2. I'm used to dealing with people that call everything an iPad. A Tab2 to those people could be a Note 2.
