To clarify:
Your school offers Text Books in Nook format. So you could get a Nook. But B&N makes a Nook app for iPad, so you could get that. They make an app for Android: you can get that.
Nook will NOT run in Kindle, so cross that off your list.
Thanks for the clarification. And I did read your post incorrectly. My fault.

I have a Google Nexus 7, 8 gig version. I wouldn't pay another $50 just for 8 gig.

I think it is mostly a great tablet. Defect #1 is the lack of a microSD slot. That would add a 32 gigabyte capability to the storage. The other nuisance is the way the USB port does not work. I can't copy some file types off the tablet to my desktop. But I also have an Archos PMS400 and my desktop treats it as just another hard drive without the limitations of the Nexus 7.

I am looking at the Hyundai T7s now. It has the resolution of the Nexus 7 and a microSD slot.

The E-ink tablets have a longer battery life but will not display color movies.

To all who posted on here; thank you for the help and suggestions. As of right now, I am keeping the information on stand-by until I am ready to buy a tablet.

Thank you.
I realize your question is about tablets but if you already have a computer, such as a laptop or notebook, you can already read e-books.

Do you really need a tablet?

The form factor makes a huge difference. Reading anything as long as a book on a laptop is tedious and exhausting—and you can curl up on the couch with a tablet. If you read a lot there’s no comparison. Same for video.

Personally I would not buy anything less then 16GB Onboard, but that is a good price from a respected manufacturer.
