It arrived on Friday. I spent two days and a couple hours on the phone trying to get it in synch with my wi-fi at home. It didn't come with very much documentation so I was flying by the seat of my pants (which for a non-techie is not a comfortable position). I've played around a little but I've found it a little difficult. I have to learn everything by hunt and peck method because of the lack of documentation. I still haven't found a way to get to the internet to surf. I can get to pre-programmed sites, but not to anyplace I can type in my own URL (or even find Google). I'm sure it's all there someplace but I haven't located it yet. It is tiny (and by that I mean thin and light). The color is good (at least on the boot-up screen). I brought it to work with me today to play around. Wouldn't you know it, I had to be busy all day and I haven't even pulled it out of my briefcase. That sucks. As I learn more (how's that for optomistic?), I'll update this site.

I'm frustrated. I'm at work and the tablet won't connect to any Wi-Fi. In the Settings tab, it says it is connected but when I try to access anything, it says that there is no internet connection. And I can't figure out how to delete the two wi-fi sources that it found. And the minimal documentation that I received doesn't anticipate anything not working so there isn't any trouble shooting guides. I went online to Sony and it says to turn off the tablet and try again. That didn't work either. I know that I'm not a techie, but this is very disappointing.

Minimal documentation? There's a 119-page "user guide" that's available for download. Here's a link...
http://www-support-downloads.sonymob...Android4.1.pdf

As for it not being able to connect to wi-fi, a "factory data reset" as described on page 105 of the "user guide" might help.

Since you did not mention it: Are all employees at your office allowed to just bring their personal mobile devices and automatically are given wifi network access to the "internet"? Even our "guest" wifi network needs a minimal level of permission - userid and password.

After all, they have to maintain some level of network security. Your device may be able to find and connect to the wifi router. And that's about all it's allowed to do.

If I buy a tablet and it requires a factory data reset to connect to WiFi it's going to be returned and I'll be looking at a different brand.

There's no telling what the "non-techie" OP screwed up when trying to set up the tablet with "minimal documentation", so it might be better to start "factory fresh" and peruse the "user's guide."

Sony's hardware tends to be good, but sometimes it's not exactly "user friendly."

I had to get the Sony Help Desk to walk me through getting connected to the Wi-Fi in my house. That's how little documentation came with the tablet. I'll try the link to the documentation Jonah_K sent. I Googled Sony tablet documentation and didn't find anything.
